Bow Valley Chorus is celebrating its 25th Anniversary!

Come join the celebration as Bow Valley Chorus presents Mozart’s Choral Masterpiece Great Mass in C Minor. This joyful work features Mozart at the height of his genius, with beautiful solos and mesmerizing choral movements for both single and double chorus. Also featured is Schubert’s elegant and most popular Choral work Mass in G. Bow Valley Chorus, under the inspirational and award-winning musical direction of John Goulart, will be accompanied by a 30 piece orchestra and will feature soloists Hannah Pagenkopf, Krista de Silva, Jason Ragan and Jason Erhardt. Bow Valley Chorus has become a vital and integral part of the Banff-Canmore cultural community. We are now proudly in our twenty third year of wonderful choral existence! Since its genesis, Bow Valley Chorus, under the talented direction of founder John Goulart, has performed a wide variety of classical compositions with orchestral accompaniment and professional soloists. Past productions include: Martin, Appalachian Winter Jenkins, The Armed Man, Winter Missa Gaia, Mozart Requiem, Great Mass in C Minor, Vespers; Vivaldi Gloria; Haydn Lord Nelson Mass; Fauré Requiem; Rutter Requiem, Magnificat, Te Deum, Gloria, Mass of the Children and The Reluctant Dragon; Bernstein Chichester Psalms; Schubert Mass in G; Charpentier Messe de Minuit pour Noel; Ramirez Misa Criolla; Pinkham Christmas Cantata with Foothills Brass Quintet and numerous performances of Handel’s Messiah. In 2010, Bow Valley Chorus had the honour of singing the official 2010 Olympic Torch Relay Anthem for the torch’s arrival in both Canmore and Banff. Bow Valley Chorus has had the honor of performing with the international and award-winning trio, Tenore, internationally renowned children’s performer, Fred Penner, international opera star Measha Brueggergosman, jazz great Holly Cole and The Canadian Brass. Bow Valley Chorus is also very proud of their maestro, John Goulart, who was the recipient of the 2013 Con Spirito Award, from the Alberta Choral Federation. This award is presented annually in recognition of the spirit and dedication of individuals to choral music in their communities.
