Event Description
Victoria Folk Music Society(VFMS) weekly gathering -- Everyone-welcome jam 6:45pm, Open Stage 7:30pm, Feature Performers Toni Verv with Carla Olive at 9pm; Friendship Hall, 1110 Hillside Avenue, $8 cash at the door
Toni Vere is a Canadian singer-songwriter whose music blends the grit of lived experience with hard-won resilience. Rooted in folk and blues, her songs offer honest storytelling and soul-searching — worn, authentic, and unforgettable!
Based in Alberta, Toni reflects prairie sensibilities in her music, pairing wide-open landscapes with complex human emotions. Themes of personal struggle, social justice, and quiet defiance meet poetic lyrics and raw, resonant melodies. On stage she balances intensity with warmth, wit, and humor, delivering performances that are both emotionally generous and entertaining. Her latest collection explores healing, trauma, and the cracks that make us human. With a voice of tenderness and strength, Toni Vere speaks to anyone who has felt broken, brave, or both!
En route to Folk Canada in Hamilton, ON, Toni is excited to be playing the VFMS joined by longtime bandmate, Carla Olive.
