Event Description

On sale Saturday, Sept 23 @ 10am

After touring across the US for the better part of 2006 in support of Three Days Grace’s sophomore release One X, the band has decided to come home to Canada for a highly anticipated headlining tour with Theory of a Deadman, Mobile, and Idle Sons. Coming off the success of a double platinum self-titled release, One X debuted at #2 and went platinum in less than 4 weeks! The first single “Animal I Have Become” reached #1 on the rock radio chart, and “Pain” is climbing its way there now.

A raw, confessional album, One-X, the follow up to THREE DAYS GRACE’s 2003 self-titled debut, is simultaneously the story of front man Adam Gontier’s personal destruction on the road, and a universal tale of feeling like an outsider. Part of learning he was not alone came from learning his band mates felt similarly isolated, dismayed with the falseness of life on the road. One-X is a roller coaster ride through Gontier's psyche. Intensely honest, Gontier leaves nothing out; it sounds as if he’s ripping pages from his journal. THREE DAYS GRACE has developed a new sense of purpose; what started out as fear and pain has led to confidence and triumph.

There’s an old axiom in music that says you have your whole life to make your first record and under a year to make your second. This spells disaster for the many bands that return from touring, find themselves with nothing left to say and fall prey to the sophomore slump. But for Vancouver, Canada’s THEORY OF A DEADMAN, going back into the rehearsal studio was an opportunity to experiment and grow into the group they always dreamt of being. Gasoline is the bands second offering, and it’s immediate and urgent without sounding the least bit rushed. Throughout, the band is inventive and precise, drawing influence from decades of rock and making them personal and passionate songs that range from acoustic-based ballads to electrified anthems. Excitement shines through the entire album. With such a good attitude and such strong material, THEORY OF A DEADMAN doesn’t need luck. They’ve just gotta pour out the Gasoline, and watch it burn.
