China Syndrome is a Vancouver-based melodic power pop band known for combining sharp songwriting, classic rock influences, and emotionally intelligent lyrics with infectious hooks. Fronted by 64 Funnycars singer/guitarist Tim Chan, the band has earned praise for crafting thoughtful “pop for grownups,” drawing comparisons to artists like Teenage Fanclub and XTC. They are currently working on their fifth album, with a release set for late 2026.
David P. Smith is a Victoria, BC songwriter, accordionist, and multidisciplinary artist whose music blends folk, blues, country, punk, and surrealist storytelling into something entirely his own. Emerging from the irreverent hillbilly-punk band The Dogbreath Brothers, Smith has spent more than two decades crafting raw, genre-defying records filled with dark humour, vivid imagery, and emotional honesty.
David will be joined by Traviss Short, a Victoria-based upright bassist with deep experience in string performance and instrument craft
