Event Description
Guitarist Simon Farintosh presents an evocative evening of music and visual art that bridges sound, image, and narrative in this UVic School of Music faculty concert. The program features Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco’s Los Caprichos de Goya, a vivid musical response to Francisco Goya’s iconic prints. Visual projections of the original artworks will accompany the performance, with Liova Bueno providing English translations and short contextual remarks that illuminate the wit, critique, and imagination behind each scene.
The program also includes a newly composed work by UVic School of Music alumnus, Liova Bueno, alongside Takashi Yoshimatsu’s Guitar Sonata “Sky Colour Tensor”—a luminous and expressive work that blends lyricism with contemporary colour.
