Ethne Cullen calls herself a nomad, having lived and worked in five countries and three Canadian provinces. She is an educator by training having worked as a teacher, principal and university lecturer. As well, for many years she “had one foot in the real world” as an entrepreneur, owning three clothing stores in Victoria. She has been active in the community, sitting on boards of the Victoria symphony, a large hospital in Toronto and chairing the United Way Board in Victoria as well and the National United Way Board. She has enjoyed sport: golf, tennis and skiing in her younger years. She enjoys music, playing the piano as relaxation, and paints, paints, paints.
During her travels she has kept her artistic eye open to the variety and colour in our world. This is reflected in her artwork. She uses a mix of media including oils, acrylics, pastels, and often mixed media. Her subject matter is as varied as the medium in which she works. Many of her ideas are drawn from other people’s projects, and she translates these into her own interpretation.
She has selected artwork that shows the variety of her work. A variety of subject matter – everything from flowers, to landscapes, to animals. A variety of media – oils, acrylics and pastels. And she shows off a variety of techniques – she paints with sponges, stencils, credit cards, straws, pastel chalks and, of course, brushes.
Ethne enjoys nothing more than sitting at her large painting table, putting on an audio book and dabbling with paint.
For physical events that happen at a specific time. For example a concert, or dance performance. If there are multiple shows, you can still duplicate your event to cover them all.
