Anise Russow is a Toronto-based jazz and soul vocalist recognized for her rich, expressive voice and dynamic stage presence. Having grown up in Victoria, Anise has been performing regularly on Vancouver Island since the age of thirteen in groups such as Groove Kitchen, the West Coast Soul Collective, the Midnights, and her own jazz groups.
After beginning her Bachelor of Music at Humber College, Anise quickly became a rising artist in the Toronto music scene. Her versatility has led her to notable stages across both Victoria and Toronto, including appearances at the TD Victoria International JazzFest (2019, 2023, 2025) and the Toronto Undergraduate JazzFest (2024). While home for the holidays from Humber College and McGill University, Anise Russow, Henry Baker, Matisse Gubby-Hurtig and Thomas Andersen, as well as Victoria’s own Kelby MacNayr, are excited to present a warm and interactive evening of music drawing from jazz and soul idioms.
