Event Description
No place, but echo is a one-hour concert weaving together six works by UVic School of Music alumni composers Marco Neri (MMus ’22) and Deniz Pekmezci (MMus ’23). Each presents three pieces, paired in a dialogue that explores memory, identity, and shifting emotional states.
Structured compositions meet free improvisations in a continuous sonic journey, where contrasting artistic visions resonate and respond to one another. With performances by alumni Heather Byford (MMus ’23), Sandra Espínola (MMus ’22) and Cleo Yong (BMus ’22, MA ’24), as well as Viviane Houle, this program invites listeners to experience sound as both shelter and transformation.
