Event Description
The Peninsula Players is delighted to be bringing live performances to retirement homes on the peninsula, reaching those who are sick or shut in and may not otherwise be able to enjoy the gift of theatre. Their mission is to lift spirits, bring joy and remind everyone that the arts belong to all.
In addition, any funds donated through their performances will be directed to support Cool Aid Society’s Sandy Merriman House women’s shelter in downtown Victoria.
This is a wonderful example of using the arts to touch hearts and make a difference in or community.
There are 4 venues where the performances will take place – Legion Manor Retirement Living, The Berwick at Royal Oak, SHOAL Community Centre and St. Elizabeth Church. Since the retirement homes are limited with space and being primarily “residents only spaces”, the general public is invited to attend the performance on Sunday October 19th at 2:00pm at St. Elizabeth’ Church located at 10030 Third Street in Sidney. There is plenty of parking and seats available for all to see.
The 3 part comedy sketches are:
• All This Time: Two rivals have auditioned for the same role.
• Banter: John and Angie have a conversation before breakfast. Luckily for us, they each have an interpreter on hand.
• At the Gates of Valhalla: Set on the threshold of the Viking afterlife.
This dynamic show will include musical vignettes and runs approx. 50 mins.
