Event Description
Join us for an unforgettable evening of soul-stirring music at Vox Americana, a vibrant celebration of the rich and diverse traditions of Americana music. Curated and hosted by Juno nominated, multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Oliver Swain, this genre-spanning concert brings together some of North America's most compelling voices and musicians in a tribute to the storytelling, spirit, and sonic depth of Americana.
At the heart of Vox Americana is Oliver Swain himself, whose deep love for folk traditions and fearless musical exploration shine through in every performance. Swain will be joined by Grammy-nominated American mandolin virtuoso Jesse Cobb (of The Infamous Stringdusters) to deliver high-energy renditions of Old-Time and Bluegrass classics—music that echoes the heartbeat of the Appalachian Mountains and the spirit of front porch jams.
In a dynamic shift of mood and texture, Swain then joins forces with Alex Campbell, renowned percussionist from the groundbreaking multimedia show Scrap Arts Music. Together, they craft hauntingly beautiful Folk-Noir—a cinematic soundscape that blends moody melodies, inventive rhythms, and Swain’s signature vocals into something utterly original.
Also taking the stage is Pony Gold, a rising star in Victoria’s music scene. Fronted by the magnetic Theresa Bromley, this fresh ensemble infuses modern Americana with heartfelt lyricism and raw vocal power, bridging contemporary songwriting with timeless folk traditions.
From foot-stomping string band tunes to introspective ballads and innovative folk fusions, Vox Americana is a night where borders blur and the essence of Americana shines through. Whether you’re a die-hard bluegrass fan, a lover of indie folk, or simply craving an evening of authentic, powerful music—this is a show not to be missed.
Come celebrate the stories, sounds, and soul of Americana—brought together by one of Canada’s most passionate musical storytellers. Vox Americana is more than a concert; it’s a journey through the roots of a genre that continues to shape the soundscape of today.
