Event Description

Mattmac from Garden Hill First Nation, Manitoba, is a blind music producer and recording artist.
His catchy melodies, thoughtful lyrics and hard hitting beats presented on his debut music album turned heads across North America. Now with two award winning albums under his belt.
He has won the CBC Searchlight 2023 contest, International Indigenous Hip-Hop Awards 2023 Album Of the Year, Canada’s Walk Of Fame RBC’s Emerging Musician Award Winner 2022, Rap/Electronic Album Of The Year at the Summer Solstice Indigenous Music Awards 2022, Broadcast Dialogue Emerging Artist Radio Award 2021 + more.
On top of these awards, Mattmac has hit #1 on the Indigenous Music Countdown for two singles “Paradise” & “Rez”.
His third album, “All Eyes On Us” is available NOW!

Strange 2ruth is a Metis/ Nehiyaw Cree first nation artist based out of Cranbrook (the unceded territory of the Ktunaxa), who has been infecting the East Kootenay region for over the past decade with his hip hop sounds. With a love for classic hip hop, you definitely hear the inspiration of that ‘90s kick and snare that is loved so well, alongside music that is forever evolving. Recently took the stage to open for The Snotty Nose Rez Kids at their Cranbrook tour date.

This will be open to everyone
at the Dan Joe Memorial gym in ʔaq̓am.
Doors open at 6pm.
Brisket dinner served until all out.
