Event Description
Fashion is a large cornerstone for those interested in Goth culture and one of the main things that binds us together as a community with a quick glance. There are many different types of Goth trends that have emerged over the years and this gives us lots of room to play with how we express our identity. With this event we want to celebrate Gothic style and what better way to do that than by teaming up with talented local desginers? Nancy Amenti is a creative and and brilliant Vancouver designer with an eye on alternative fashion. She will be joining us to showcase some gowns, lingerie and party dresses in a fantastic fashion show!
Participate in a Clothing Swap
Focusing on clothing, if you have any GENTLY used items that you want to see go to a good home, feel free to bring them down! A clothing swap is a great way to give clothing new life as well as rejuvenate your wardrobe with a lot less cost. We remind everyone interested in participating in this bring items that are in good to excellent condition and have been laundered.
Beauty of Goth Dress Code
So with all this talk about fashion, what kind of dress code do you need to meet? Descent Sundays boasts an exclusively nonexistent dress code. "Why?" you ask. Well, it's simple: We want everyone who comes to our events to be comfortable. New people entering the scene, or just checking it out, may not have figured out their style. So you may be wondering what is acceptable. Jeans and a tshirt? No problem. Full out Goth? Totally AWESOME. Punk kid? Rock god? Sk8tr girl? Great! Sweet! Wicked! Feel like going all out in some jaw dropping ensemble? You're totally welcome to. Come how you want to but we are strongly encouraging everyone to dress up in their favourite Gothic style.
