Thor's Kelowna-based backing band SEVERED SERENITY fuses power-packed rock, prog and metal to create their distinct sound. Vulcan Sky Recording artists Frank Soda & Jett Starsystems will also be making special onstage guest appearances with Thor this rockin' evening!
THOR - An enduring icon of glam rock/metal and one of the true originators of rock theatre, Thor's enviable music career was launched with an appearance on the Merv Griffin Show and he's maintained a steady pace ever since, selling hundreds of thousands of records around the globe. Starting out in Vancouver, Thor first made waves in the bodybuilding world, becoming Mr. Canada and Mr. USA while using heavy music as an intensive training tool. The DARKEST OF THE HILLSIDE THICKETS is a rock band dedicated to promoting the literature of H.P. Lovecraft, who wrote of lost cities, tainted geneology, alien gods, and that fabled tome, The Necronomicon. While they haven't been able to get their hands on the ancient spellbook, The Thickets have their own brand of corruption they're on a Lovecraftian binge of madness, and they mean to take you with them. They have a reputation for entrancing and inciting their live audiences with a melodic blend of energetic punk and rock while wearing graphic costumes that help bring their good-naturedly macabre songs to life. The latest Darkest of the Hillside Thickets project is "The Shadow Out of Tim" concept album, a reimagining of Lovecraft's short story "The Shadow Out of Time." http://www.Thickets.net
