The eternal question- Reef or Madness?! Get ready for an innovative show that dares to push the envelope, fusing locally based, locally grown music. Start the night off with Victoria’s favorite surf bandits- in disguise for this show, but you know who they are-Pacific Coast, playing their own version of Ska, reggae and surf, geared to get your feet wet. When these folks wash you ashore, put your board down and get land locked with C.F.C., local experimental hip hop boys, who bind classic hip-hop energy with a distinctly West Coast flavor. Then, duck for cover, as words be flying fast, and furious, powered by beat-boxing and sublime melodies, brought to you by Victoria favourites in spoken word. And, just when you think you cant dance anymore… watch as fingers fly, and bows break, with the kind of Bluegrass mama don’t ‘low; Ain’t Dead yet.
While you’re changing your dancing shoes, we’ve got a lot to keep you entertained, from titillating treats, to a spectacular fire extravaganza, a live auction of goods from Sitka and ThreeSixty, one of a kind art pieces, and much more. There’s really too much to get into here! But, come hungry and parched, cause we’ll have tasty treats from Blue Nile, and the Reef along with a bar that islanders can be proud of: And leave with the knowledge that all profits from this fine evening go towards supporting the climate justice initiatives of Pacific Peoples' Partnership and their Indigenous partners in Polynesia and Melanesia.
So giddy up, let the good times roll, and join us for an evening of wild abandon, decadent debauchery, and a chance to send off your summer in style. It’s all “swell” that ends well!
