Mad Bomber Society is a seven-piece band from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, playing heavy, danceable ska influenced by the traditional instrumental sound of the Skatalites and the uncompromising attitude of the British 2-Tone movement.
Sharing little in common with the poppy style of ska of the mid-90's, Mad Bomber Society's lineage is more directly traceable to the great 80's Canadian ska pioneers King Apparatus and Roots Roundup. The lineup features a three-piece horn section, a wild Hammond-style organ, and a rocksteady rhythm section. Musical influence stands out of the jazz, rock, and pop styles of the 50's and 60's, along with shots of punk, surf, and rockabilly.
