The Harpoonist

Shawn Hall is a Vancouver Island-based descendant of Pioneer farmers, and politicians from the 1870's. He provides rousing, rugged & theatrical vocals, dubbed-out sound FX, & warped time forgotten country Blues harp.



Shawn Hall has graced the stages of North America, Australia, and much of Europe, including the Copenhagen International Jazz Festival, Queens Cliff (AUS), SXSW, Winnipeg Folk Fest, Ottawa Blues Fest, Calgary Folk Fest, Edmonton Folk Fest, and Montreal Jazz Fest, to name a few. Along the way, he’s shared bills with Taj Mahal, Booker T Jones, David Wilcox, Tinariwen, Dr Dog, Colin James & Randy Bachman to name a few. He has performed as lead vocalist of Vancouver band The Harpoonist & The Axe Murderer for many years, as well as his own solo project, The Harpoonist. Shawn has had songs featured on television shows such as ‘CSI: Crime Scene Investigation’, ‘NCIS: New Orleans’, ‘The Good Wife’, ‘Blue Bloods’, and the aptly-named TV movie ‘Lizzie Borden Took An Axe.'
