Ken Seidman

Ken was born in Brooklyn and moved here from New York in 1991. He has been studying and playing jazz piano for over 50 years. He studied for several years with YouTube/Berkeley educator Dave Frank, a disciple of the legendary cool bop artist and teacher Lennie Tristano. Ken has been a long-standing member of Trio Espresso (and more recently the Island Dream Band) with Carol Sokoloff as well as Wild Honey with Margot Johnston. He is a member of the Best Coast Big Band and Mood Swing Orchestra. He has studied with Joey Smith as part of the Victoria Conservatory of Music Jazz Program and performs regularly at Hermann’s (UJAM) as well at other local venues.
