Aroabora Music Festival Finds Its Rhythm in Banff
Calgary, AB, January 21, 2026 – A new alpine electronic music experience debuts beneath the northern sky. Aroabora Mountain Music Festival, a two-night electronic music gathering rooted in alpine culture and Boreal Techno, will make its inaugural debut March 27 & 28, 2026 in Banff, Alberta at the Historic Train Station. Tickets go on sale Monday, January 19, 2026.
Set at the seasonal threshold between winter and spring, Aroabora is more than a festival — it is a rite of passage. Beneath vast dark skies and jagged peaks, music, art, and mountain culture converge in one of the world’s most iconic natural landscapes.
On the mountain stage, beneath the northern sky… sound, art, and spirit converge. This is Aroabora. Learn more.
Aroabora’s sound is defined by Boreal Techno — melodic, cinematic, and deeply atmospheric electronic music shaped by altitude, aurora, and stone. As the sun sets behind the Rockies and the air grows still, the experience unfolds across two immersive nights of rhythm, community, and movement.
“High in the Rockies, as winter begins to loosen its grip, something shifts,” says Bill Robinson, President of Aroabora Music Festival. “The music mirrors the landscape — expansive, spiritual, and powerful. The spectacle isn’t just on stage — it’s all around you.”
Designed as a true-to-place experience, Aroabora invites attendees to ski by day, dance by night, and connect through music under a canopy of stars. Snow-covered slopes become the dance floor; the aurora and night sky become the light show.
Aroabora isn’t just for ticket holders — on Saturday, March 28, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM, we are hosting a free Community Session, open to all ages and all members of the Banff community.
This relaxed afternoon gathering will include festival art installations, local food trucks, and a soundtrack of chill mountain music, providing a welcoming space for the Banff community to gather and play. This session is designed as a welcoming opportunity for residents to see what the festival is about, ask questions, and spend time together in a casual, family-friendly environment.
United by rhythm and heightened by the turning of the seasons, Aroabora Mountain Music Festival is an ultimate alpine gathering — a physical, spiritual, and electric experience where community and sound align in the heart of the Canadian Rockies at the Banff Train Station. See you in the glow.

About Aroabora Music Festival:
With over 20 years of festival experience, ABF has produced some of Western Canada’s most successful large-scale events — including the Banff Craft Beer Festival, Calgary International Beerfest, and Edmonton Craft Beer Festival — welcoming tens of thousands of guests each year. The team brings deep expertise in event production, logistics, and community engagement, ensuring AROABORA is built on a foundation of trust, creativity, and proven success.
AROABORA expands that legacy into the mountains — blending music, art, and nature to create a transformative alpine experience. Developed in collaboration with community curators, Indigenous advisors, and non-profit partners, AROABORA is designed with intention: to honour the land, amplify local voices, and build a gathering that is both meaningful and sustainable.
AROABORA takes place on the traditional territories of the Stoney Nakoda, Blackfoot Confederacy (Siksika, Piikani, and Kainai Nations), Tsuut’ina Nation, and the Métis peoples within Treaty 7 territory.
We recognize the deep, ongoing relationship these Nations have with the land that holds Banff and the Bow Valley.
This festival is created in the spirit of respect, gratitude, and collaboration — guided by Indigenous advisors and community partners who help us honour this place and its stories.
