FUN IS FUNDAMENTAL AT THIS FREE ALL-AGES EVENT!
On-going children's activities, live music, costumes, dancing, displays, art making, films, poetry, artists, food and fun will be among the many things to be enjoyed at the second annual Creatively United for the Planet Earth Week Festival to be held April 19-21 at St. Ann’s Academy, 835 Humboldt Street. This FREE, fun-filled all-ages community event will be held from 7:30-9:30 pm Friday, April 19, 11 am to 9:30 pm Saturday, April 20 and from noon to 6 pm Sunday, April 21.
Friday: Two amazing Canadian films, Groundswell and OccupyLove, will be shown from 7:30-9:30 pm in the theatre at St. Ann’s complete with a Q&A with the co-producer of Best Canadian film OccupyLove and surfer/geography prof. Dr. Chris Darimont and the Raincoast Conservation Foundation.
Saturday: The Great Cloth Diaper Change Guinness World Record Event will kick things off at 11 am, followed by opening ceremonies with the Gettin' Higher Choir, Holly Arntzen, Kevin Wright and special guests; an Earth Walk celebration, day-long entertainment, art and art making, and a live outdoor DJ dance party from 6:30-9:30 pm.
Sunday: Features an amazing variety of genres from funk to celtic fusion by dozens of world-class performers, local bands and performers, plus art and art making, displays by more than 80 exhibitors, food for all tastes and much much more.
CRD Parks and Environmental Sustainability Dept., PowerSmart's Outreach Team, The Alternative Energy Association, the Compost Education Centre, local schools, community associations, will be among the many exhibitors who will be on hand.

3-5 pm World-acclaimed artist/conservationist Robert Bateman, plus Bear Whisper and outdoor legend Charlie Russell take the stage from 3-5 pm with MC David Suzuki Foundation Director Dr. Faisal Moola;
7-9:30 pm Creative 8 minute talks by 8 amazing speakers including climate specialist Dr. Andrew Weaver,
ocean’s expert Dr. Kate Moran, Ken Wu of the Ancient Forest Alliance, alternative energy specialist Guy Dauncey, Sierra Club of BC/author Caitlyn Vernon, plus music by Anne Schaefer and Brad Prevedoros and Three Worlds in an action-packed program;
Photography and Post-Production Workshops for beginner to intermediate photographers with international award-winning photographer and Photoshop Expert Craig Minielly, Saturday, April 21.
Sunday's ticketed events include:
A Bring Your Own Teacup Fashion Show presented by Hemp & Co. featuring Fashions That Don’t Cost the Earth, local designers, goodies by Bake My Day and local teas, from noon to 1:15 pm, followed by a presentation by best-selling Zero Mile Diet author Carolyn Herriot who will share her incredible knowledge of organic food and gardening from 1:15 to 2:15 pm.
Huffington Post writer/author of Rethinking Money, Jacqui Dunne, shares her insight into money systems and new world ways of thinking from 2:30-3:30 pm with a book-signing from 3:30-4 pm.
An Idea and Opportunity Jam follows from 3:45 to 6 pm and will offer amazing networking opportunities and community sharing.
